Welcome to the April newsletter

Spring is here at last and the summer paddling season begins with plenty of trips and weekends away planned to look forward to.

As you all know we start the lake sessions this coming Thursday evening 17th April, it will be good to see some familiar faces and hopefully some new ones coming to join us.

There has been a couple of trips since the last update, a few members paddled the Trent and we had a big turnout for the Avon trip.

I'd like to wish Martin and Sam Stretton, Row Bashforth and Sam Pateman good luck on their Level 1 coaching course which is over 2 weekends in April.

We're still looking for volunteers to help with safety cover for the open water swimming sessions on Wednesday evenings.

We don't need a regular committment, just as many people to help out whenever they can as possible. You'll gain valuable experience and learn how to protect others on the water.

You won't need to perform rescues, just act as eyes and ears on the water and signal the rescue boat if anyone gets into trouble. Its suitable for most paddlers, so if you fancy getting involved, contact Stuart Ritchie on 07966 318 305 or email him at newsletter@hinckleycanoeclub.co.uk.

As we now have new Home Waters, we've drawn up a guide and code of conduct for members who use Stanton Lakes.
