Chairman's Statement

Welcome to the HCC August newsletter

Firstly I'd like to welcome all the new members to HCC. Its great to see so many new people coming to the lake and  joining us on the trips. Since the last newsletter we have had a few trips of different types. There has been a paddle organised on the Lee Valley white water course (built for the Olympics) and a river Tryweryn camping  weekend which had a massive turnout with  lots of members and some old faces, also a few ex -members. It would be great to see these coming back to the club to join us again.

We had a Surfing weekend in Woolacombe north Devon and an afternoon Ashby canal trip to the lime kilns and back with 20 paddlers on it including a lot of first timers. who all did really well.

There are plenty of trips and events coming up for everyone, so keep an eye on the website, facebook page and the notice board. The last lake session for the season will be on the18th Sept, then the pool sessions start up on 23rd Sept until Christmas.

See you all on the water David Clarke

HCC Clubmark

The HCC Clubmark application has now been submitted and - fingers crossed - we'll be the proud owners of the Sport England ClubMark accreditation.

This accreditation will allow us to develop the Club, attract grant funding and improve facilities for members.

Secretary needed

HCC still needs a Club Secretary on the committee. If you feel you could spare the odd hour here and there to help out, then please get in touch with any committee member as we'd love for you to be involved.
