Happy new year to all of you and your family’s and hope you all got plenty of paddling in over the Christmas holidays.

There has  been a few trips since the last update, a group of us had a great paddle on the upper Avon, this can only be done in very high water. Four members went on Jonny Bennett’s  Dart trip, they paddled the loop on the Friday and caught the upper at a really good level on the Saturday. Penny ran an open canoe coaching day at Matlock, this was ideal for everyone aiming to improve their skills for 3 star or coaching.

For the people that have not noticed there has been a lot of updates on the website including new articles and trip reports and lots more on the calendar including the pool session dates. We have a few river trips planned in February and March including the Tame (or similar), river Dee and the annual Dove tour.

As you all know the AGM is on February 7th at 7.30, its at Stanton Lakes so will be a great opportunity to see our new home waters. There will be some food for you and the bar will be open, so a great chance for a get together and a chat after the official stuff.

We're running a coaching course in April for HCC members who want to try coaching.
The level one course is easy to complete and will help develop your own paddling skills and your confidence in a boat.

Its your chance to have a say and help us to improve the club and see our new club waters too!
