Chairman's Statement.

Welcome to the July newsletter.

Firstly i'd like to welcome all the new members to the club, we now have over 100 members. Every one has been very busy this month, with the club Alps trip, which looked awesome. Also a few other club trips to various places, along with some peer trips including a sea trip in Scotland.

As you all know we had the Open day this month, which went really well and a working party to keep everyone busy. Have a look at the trip reports to catch up with what has been going on.

The lake has been extremely busy with lots of social paddling and star award courses going on, Its great to see so many down there and its also nice to make the most of the weather having a chat and a beer afterwards on the decking.

We have lots of trips and events going on including 15 members doing there 4 star training in North Wales, First aid course, FSRT, WW safety day (which still has places on it).I hate to scare you as its only July.but the Christmas weekend away and Christmas meal is also on the calendar along with plenty of trips of different types. So keep an eye on the calendar and facebook page,

See you on the water. Dave Clarke.

FSRT Training 25th July 2015 - ONLY a Few places left

This training course aims to provide paddlers with the key safety and rescue skills required to operate safely and to be able to deal with common emergencies. These skills form the foundations for safety and rescue throughout BCU qualifications.

The award has two purposes;

• To provide the paddler with the necessary skills which will enable them to ensure the safety of themselves and others

• To provide the paddler with the appropriate rescue skills which can be used to help themselves and/or others in difficulty
