Welcome to the first newsletter in the new format that is linked to the new HCC website.

Firstly I'd like to say a big thank you from all the members to Dan Bishop for his hard work as chairman (and many more roles) over the last two years. For those of you that attended the AGM in February you will know I am now the new HCC chairman.

This year we have a new committee structure that you will be able to see on our new website, along with all the trips, events and information you and new members should need. This will be updated regularly including the addition of a members area shortly.

We have also changed the website addres which is now: www.hinckleycanoeclub.co.uk

We now have a program secretary to oversee all the trips and events that will be run by a team of designated trip leaders. We also have a Paddlesport Development Officer to oversee all the coaching and training with help from the club coaches. This will hopefully make the coaching more structured and we will be able to run more trips of various kinds.

We are well on the way to reaching Sport England Clubmark award this year and also we will be creating a BCU canoe trail on the Ashby Canal that runs alongside our club waters.
