Welcome to the HCC May update, I'd like to wish Ian Bailey good luck on his new summer job in Iceland (not where mums go) where he is 'living the dream' raft guiding and safety boating.
A big well done to one of our junior members Joe Cooksey who did the doggie paddle, this is an 18 mile sponsored paddle for guide dogs for the blind , a big achievement for his first river trip ever.
The lake sessions are going really well with some new members and also a few old members who have come back to join us. We have now got 3 new dagger dynamo's (junior boats) which were partly funded by a grant from the canoe foundation, thanks to Penny for her hard work obtaining this grant.
We now have the kit shed racked out for easy access to the paddles, b/aids etc, thanks to Martin, Richard Dale and Dan
There has been lots of trips and events going on recently, including the Nene/leam boat centre day and the Surf weekend in Woolacombe where they had sunshine and surf (and a few beers) Please keep an eye on the trip calendar. which is being updated regularly. So you don't miss out on the latest activities and book early as some events have limited places
See you on the water Dave Clarke |
