Chairman's Statement.

Welcome to the September newsletter

Its great that the club is still growing, we now have 130 members. Its even better seeing everyone so keen at the lake, on trips and events. We also have some up and coming new coaches and members getting involved on the committee. This years lake sessions have been a great success, so i'd like to say a big thank you to all the coaches and helpers who have made them so successful.

We've had another busy month with lots going on including a Symonds Yat/Cardiff W/W centre weekend, the annual safety day at Llangollen, trips on the Washburn,Tees and Dee,and a sea trip, also a new one for the club a flat water freestyle coaching session at Stanton lakes.

Well done (and well deserved) to all you guys that have recently passed your 1 and 2 star awards. Also a big well done to Joe Cooksey who has passed his 3 star W/W assessment this month. Will be great seeing you all on a few of the trips to practice your new skills out.

We have lots of trips and events planned, so please keep an eye on the website or facebook for more details. If your unsure, about details don't hesitate to ask.

See you on the water. Dave Clarke.

Canoe Polo

Good day to you and welcome to a new discipline here at HCC but before we tell you what could be in store for you pardon the pun we need to test the water.

Well for some time now we have had the odd game of polo yes people you've guessed it. It’s canoe polo even tho it is played in a kayak so before we invest a lot of time and money we would like to know how many people would be interested in playing in real polo boats.

At the moment the idea is to hopefully get enough people to play games in house, then eventually play against other teams and clubs. The plan so far is for Jevon to be ref and coach and Aylwyn (Allan) to be kit sec.

Keep your eyes peeled for a facebook post in the very near future, where we will be collecting names of interested people.
