Stanton Lakes
Chairman's Statement

Welcome to the September newsletter

Big news for the club this month !!  As from next April HCC have got new home waters at Stanton Lake which is just outside Stoney Stanton. We will have use of the Bar/Restaurant, toilets and showers and we will have a brick built boat store and our own launch point. The lake is 18 acres of which we will have full use of sometimes, and shared use at other times, with possible weekend usage as things progress. This is a great step forward  and will help us build the club in the future. I would like to Thank Dave Callington at Burton lake for all the help he has given HCC over the years.

The end of the lake sessions are now over for this year already, I'd like to thank all the coaches and helpers for all their work and time that they have put in over the season, it would not be possible without you. Remember the pool sessions start on Monday 23rd September at Bosworth academy in Desford, all members  new and experienced are welcome to come along for confidence building, practicing strokes, rolling and play boating in the deep end. But we do need plenty of notice if you need to use club boats/kit.

Well done to  Martin Stretton and Ernie for passing there 3 star w/w kayak, also well done to 7 of the newer members for getting their 1 star this month at the Lake. There has been a few trips going on, River Avon, Matlock and Lee valley that all went well and were well attended.

For the people that don't know, we are trying to achieve Sport England  'Clubmark' accreditation, the folder has now been submitted for inspection and approval, so watch this space for more news.

As I always say keep an eye on the website calendar and facebook for all the trips and events that are going on over the next few months, so that  you don't miss out on anything.

See you on the water  Dave Clarke
