Chairman's Statement.

Welcome to the April newsletter

Well Spring has finally arrived and the lake sessions have started at Stanton. For those who have not been down this year yet, we now have a nice new launch point and the containers are newly painted, all this was done at the recent working party, thanks to Martin, Phil and all the volunteers who helped out over the weekend.

The planned star courses are starting very soon so please get your names down ASAP, all the details are on the website.

We now have 2 new level one coaches in the club, well done to Dave Garland and Neil Smith and welcome to the coaching team.

  The club is now the proud owner a our first SUP (stand up paddle board) and another one will be on the way shortly, these will be good fun and an ideal introduction into the relevantly new section of paddlesport.

    Looking ahead we have plenty of trips, events and weekends/holidays away planned. The plans for the open day which is on Saturday 4th July are well underway, if anyone is available to help out on or off the water that would be a great help.

                        See you all on the water  Dave Clarke.

FSRT Training 25th July 2015 - ONLY a Few places left

This training course aims to provide paddlers with the key safety and rescue skills required to operate safely and to be able to deal with common emergencies. These skills form the foundations for safety and rescue throughout BCU qualifications.

The award has two purposes;

• To provide the paddler with the necessary skills which will enable them to ensure the safety of themselves and others

• To provide the paddler with the appropriate rescue skills which can be used to help themselves and/or others in difficulty
