HCC/ Stanton lakes open day 4/7/15
Our annual HCC/Stanton lakes open day was a great success. During the day we offered paddle sport taster sessions, either in canoe, kayak or Sup. Over the day we had 110 visitors on the water. These were family, friends, people from the surrounding area and it was great to see a few from other clubs. This year we ran this event in conjunction with Hinckley district scouts, who used the lake for the annual raft race.
Other attractions on the day included an ergo machine competition, We had three prize winners, the main prize being a £20 voucher for Stanton restaurant (kindly donated by Stanton lakes) we also had face painting, bouncy castle and most importantly a buttie bar to keep everyone happy.
Hopefully the Day promoted HCC as a club, Stanton lakes as a great venue and introduced lots of people to the world of paddle sport.
I’d like to say a big thank you to all the members that put a lot of time and work in, on and off the water, during the day and leading up to the event.
