I started kayaking in August. After one fun trip on the river at Warwick I thought it was a good idea.

The club is so friendly and helpful I found myself thinking I can do this! The wonderful Clarke family are so supportive as are all the coaches and members. The acts of kindness I have received have been wonderful and the club is hugely welcoming.

I thought at first it was quite easy and not much to it. How wrong I was!

I continued to come to every Thursday to learn more and soon found myself on a one star course
and now about to start my two star! I’m also looking forward to learning to roll in the safety of the pool, how hard can it be I wonder….. Ha ha.

The benefits of being a member are great – I mean being able to hire a boat and all the accessories for a fiver is amazing – it gives me the support and confidence
to not rush and end up buying the wrong thing, taking my time and exploring all possibilities.

Having been on a club trip it quickly became apparent that the trips are what it’s all about.
I know the club always has safety closely followed by fun as the priorities.
This whole world is opening up new adventures. From Cag to drysuit to river levels to finding myself checking out
the weather for water levels.

Ask me what sort of paddler I want to be? I want to do everything. I’m greedy . There you go and bring on the adventures…..
