Yes you are right - It's Rob the right way up
Chairman's Statement.

Welcome to the February newsletter.

It’s been great to see so many members on the trips that have been going on over the last few weeks. There has been a weekend in the Lake district a Matlock trip and also a Dee trip. All the club trips are great fun, a way to gain experience and improve your paddling skills. We have plenty of trips, weekends away, pool sessions and events planned so book up now with the trip leaders or just ask if you need any more information or help. The HCC spring Alps trip is one not to miss for the more experienced paddlers.

Looking ahead the Lake has been confirmed for the 2015 summer season, there will be planned coaching for paddle power and star awards, social paddling and games to keep everyone entertained. Another one for the diary is the AGM on Friday 6th March see below for details.

See you all on the water or at the AGM  Dave Clarke.

2015 AGM at Stanton lakes - Friday 6th March - 7.30pm

After the nominations and consitions changes have taken place, there will been the awards, there are some quite interesting ones this year... Followed by FREE food.  The bar will be open all evening, However Lesley says this is not FREE.

2015 Consitions Changes
This year we would like to put two constitution changes forward for the members to vote on at the AGM

1. Concerning the chairman's post on the committee. The constitution states it is a 2 year post, we would like to change this to read, a minimum of 2 years, This would enable a current chairman to be re-elected without committing to a further 2 years.

2. Currently all committee members pay subscription's to the club, other local canoe clubs (Leamington, HPP) give free membership to committee members. This is a way of showing the clubs appreciation for the work carried out behind the scenes on behalf of the members. We (the committee) feel that rather than automatically getting free membership, we would like to introduce free membership retrospectively for the previous years work. In addition to this we would like to have the option to issue free membership to members (max 3) in recognition of the services they have provided to the club over the previous year.

A committee nomination form is attached, please ask the person before you nominate them.

Working Party - Your club needs you!

One for the diary, any members who has borrowed club kit over the winter will need to return it to the lake on Sat 28th March please.

I am looking for some volunteers to help check kit and test BA out. Other work at the lake will be required to get us ready, which I will advise nearer the time. Anyone free to help just let us know.

Pool Sessions - Have Started Again There are still a few places left...

The pool sessions will once again be at Bosworth Academy in Desford  on Thursday evenings with 2 x 45 minute  sessions, 7.30-8.15 (beginners) , 8.15-9.00 (improvers).

The dates will be as follows,
19th Feb, 26th Feb, 12th Mar, 19th Mar and 26th Mar

All sessions are £5 per person per sessions, club boats will be free to borrow but if you have your own boat please take it as we will only have a limited amount.

There will be coaches at the pool sessions but we cannot guarantee that it will be on a one to one basis

To book your session please contact me personally 07900357795 (please do not just click attending as i need to organise who is on which session) ...
