Matlock

Not many takers for this trip but with the river up and running fast it was not for the faint hearted in for a first time white water in open boats.

Sam was not convinced… but Martin was keen.

First job was learning to drive the boat forward in the eddy line then a quick move to ferry glides and learning about trim. Whilst I played around at reverse ferry gliding.

Both Martin and Sam proved to be quick learners and were quickly working on reducing the effort to let the water and the boat do the work. By the afternoon they were taking advantage of the higher water and began to learn to surf the boats.

A huge thank you to Martin and Sam for coming and letting me practise some of my lesson for UKCC L3.
