Chairman's Statement.

Welcome to the May newsletter

Firstly I’d like to welcome all the new members, hope you’re enjoying your paddling, and great to see so many paddlers down at Stanton, either on the courses or social paddling.

At the start of the month we had the Llangollen camping weekend. During the weekend 18 of us paddled the Dee, and a big group of us paddled the upper and lower Tryweryn, on the Monday a few of us headed to LLandegla for some mountain biking, it was a great club weekend, thanks to everyone who joined us. We have had a few other trips/events including the annual Midland canoe show at the Nene W/W centre, this is Canoe kayak trader (leam boat centre) event, where they have demo boats, workshops, which some members went on and a boatercross challenge. Penny is now the HCC boatercross champion.

As always there is plenty on the calendar to put in your diaries, including lots of 3 star training, a 2 star trip and hopefully something for everyone. For the people that don’t know, a group of paddlers are off to the Southern Alps in France for 2 weeks soon, so good luck and have a great time guys.

See you on the water Dave Clarke
